Hydrocolloid started in hospital wound care. The dressing is made of gel-forming particles in a soft adhesive layer. When you place it on a popped or fluid-filled pimple, it draws out the fluid and turns it into a soft gel. This keeps the spot moist and shielded from dirt and bacteria, an environment that supports the skin’s natural healing.
This roll uses the same hydrocolloid technology you find in pre-cut pimple patches, in a format you can trim to size. There are no creams, fragrances or harsh actives. The tape works by absorbing and protecting, not by drying out your skin.
Best for: whiteheads, surfaced pimples, popped pimples and small fluid-filled blemishes.
Not for: deep, blind or cystic pimples with no head, and blackheads. Hydrocolloid works on the skin’s surface and cannot reach these.
How to use it
- Cleanse and dry. Wash the area gently and pat it fully dry. The tape sticks best to clean, dry skin.
- Cut to size. Cut a piece slightly larger than the pimple. Round the corners so the edges do not lift.
- Peel and press. Remove the backing and press the patch over the spot for a few seconds. Warmth from your fingers helps it seal.
- Wear 6 to 8 hours or overnight. When the patch turns white or opaque, it has absorbed fluid and is ready to come off.
- Remove gently. Peel from one edge, slowly. Then cleanse and moisturise as usual.
Tips:
- Apply before your moisturiser or sunscreen, not over it.
- Store the roll in a cool, dry place with the backing intact.
